What Is This Equipment?

The T280 receives signals from conventional smoke, heat and flame detectors and manual call points arranged in zones around the ship (for example navigation bridge deck, accommodation decks, engine room decks, emergency generator room, steering gear room and stores). When a detector or call point operates, the panel lights the zone lamp, shows "Fire Alarm" and drives the alarm sounders. The panel also supervises its own wiring and power supplies and signals faults such as zone indicator fault, mains fault, standby supply fault and sounder wiring fault. A key switch on the front panel controls access to operator functions, and a zone table on the panel front lists each zone and circuit number.
