What Is This Equipment?

The JHS-32B combines a 25 W VHF radiotelephone and a DSC watchkeeping receiver in one panel-mounted unit, as required by the GMDSS regulations. It handles voice communication on international, USA and Canadian marine channels and sends and receives DSC calls: distress, all ships, individual, auto/semi-auto telephone calls, distress relay and acknowledgement. The large LCD shows the DSC menu, channel and power, and received messages can be read out or printed on the optional NKG-52 printer. The unit includes the DSC unit, the CH70 watch receiver and the power supply, and works on AC mains with automatic switchover to 24 V DC when AC fails.
