This is a brand new, original Anschütz gyrosphere (serial no. 109669) supplied as a spare for the Anschütz Standard 22 NX gyro compass, and also used in Standard 22 and Standard 20 compasses. The gyrosphere is the north-seeking element of the Anschütz master compass. It floats in heated supporting liquid inside the outer sphere and gives the ship's true heading. The included Anschütz certificate confirms the gyrosphere with this serial number is an original Anschütz spare part, with warranty according to Anschütz general terms of business. The installation sheet explains that an alignment error must be checked after first installation or after replacing the gyrosphere, with the ship moored (at least 5 hours), following service manual section 2.2.1.1.
