Marine Fuel Oil Pump
Nippon Oil Pump Co., Ltd. – NOP
New product
The NOP GD-208H is a high-pressure Trochoid® fuel pump manufactured in Japan by Nippon Oil Pump Co., Ltd. It is designed primarily for the transfer and pressurisation of heavy fuel oil B and C.
The photographed pump nameplate shows an adjustable pressure setting of 0–3.0 MPa, together with clearly marked IN and OUT ports. This pump is suitable for marine boiler burners, incinerator fuel systems, industrial furnaces and other heavy-fuel supply installations.

The technical figures above are based on the photographed nameplate and the official NOP GD H-type specifications. Actual operating pressure must always follow the burner, piping and system requirements.
The internal Trochoid rotor creates suction at the inlet and transfers fuel oil toward the discharge port. The two-stage pressurisation design helps the pump deliver stable fuel pressure to the burner or downstream fuel system.
The adjustment mechanism controls relief pressure, but it should only be set by an experienced technician using a calibrated pressure gauge. Excessive adjustment can damage can damage the pump, burner equipment, seals or pipework.

NOP specifies the H-type pump for heavy fuel oil B/C. It must not be used for kerosene or heavy fuel oil A because of the pump-head material. For kerosene or A-grade fuel oil, the manufacturer recommends the corresponding VK-type pump.
Gasoline and other volatile oils must not be transferred by this pump. The selected direction of rotation, shaft movement and IN/OUT port arrangement must also match the pump specification. More information is available from the official NOP MB-GD product page.
Possible causes include incorrect rotation, an empty or unprimed suction line, blocked strainer, air leakage or excessively cold and viscous fuel.
Check for a restricted suction line, worn internal rotor, relief-valve leakage, fuel leakage or an unsuitable pressure adjustment.
A blocked discharge pipe, incorrect relief-valve setting or stuck valve can create dangerously high pressure.
Noise may result from cavitation, cold fuel, suction restriction, incorrect alignment or air entering the system.
Inspect the shaft seal, gasket, mounting alignment and operating pressure. Replace damaged sealing components before further operation.
Subject to model and serial-number verification, enquiries may be submitted for:
Can the GD-208H pump kerosene or diesel?
No. NOP identifies the H type for heavy fuel oil B/C. A compatible VK-type model should be considered for kerosene or lighter fuel oil.
Is 4.0 MPa the normal operating pressure?
No. It is the manufacturer’s stated maximum discharge pressure under specified test conditions. The photographed unit shows a 0–3.0 MPa set-pressure range, and the actual setting must match the system.
Can the pump rotation be reversed during installation?
Do not reverse it without checking the exact configuration. The ordered direction of rotation and IN/OUT arrangement must be followed.
What details are required for a quotation?
Send clear photographs of the complete pump, nameplate, shaft, ports, rotation direction and existing installation. Mention the required quantity and delivery country.
